Job Description

As a Business Developer at Somfy, you will be responsible for driving growth in the residential real estate segment, focusing on shading solutions and smart home technologies. You will build and manage strategic relationships with real estate developers, architects, and project stakeholders to position Somfy as the preferred partner for motorized shading and connected home systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with residential real estate developers and construction companies.
  • Promote Somfy’s portfolio of motorized shading systems, smart controls, and home automation solutions.
  • Lead the full sales cycle: from prospecting and technical consultation to proposal, negotiation, and project delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal technical and marketing teams to tailor solutions that meet customer needs and project specifications.
  • Track and manage project pipelines using CRM tools and ensure timely follow-up and reporting.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments in the smart home and construction sectors.
  • Represent Somfy at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to strengthen brand visibility and partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development or sales, preferably in smart home, building automation, or construction-related technologies.
  • Proven track record of managing complex B2B projects and delivering results in the real estate or construction sector.
  • Strong technical understanding of smart home ecosystems, IoT, and motorized shading systems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong customer orientation.
  • Fluent in Czech and  English proficiency required.
  • Preferably with experience in Somfy products or comparable solutions within the shading and automation sector.
  • Experience working with architects, MEP consultants, and project managers.
  • Knowledge of building codes, energy efficiency standards, and sustainability certifications (e.g., LEED, BREEAM).
  • Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and digital collaboration tools.
