Somfy Participations takes over Sirem and participates in the Batilor / Babeau Seguin operation

On October 3rd Somfy Group completed the acquisition of Sirem.

Sirem manufactures and sells a range of gear motors and pumps, with electronic controls, for use in various applications: balneotherapy, dynamic notice boards, milk tanks. The company is located in Saint Maurice de Beynost, in the Ain department of France. It employs 170 people and consolidated sales were €26.4 million in 2007.

Somfy Participations has acquired 89% of the capital in the acquiring structure, Financière Nouveau Monde. The company's management team holds the remaining 11% with Nicolas Ciampi as General Manager.

LCL and Société Générale, as co-arrangers, have organised non-recourse acquisition financing.

In addition, Somfy has also taken a share, along with Sigefi Private Equity (Siparex group), in the alliance of Batilor and Babeau Seguin, residential builders.

The new group is expected to post accumulated annual sales of around €110 million with the building of some 1300 new homes. The company operates in 20 French departments. It will rank 4th in France and with leadership in the east of the country.

The investment for Somfy Participations represents a sum of €2.7 million for a 9.1% stake in the capital of the new group.
