Job Description
Your Mission
As Technical Manager, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, oversee maintenance operations, and drive industrialization projects. You’ll ensure operational efficiency, safety compliance, and team development across SOMFY’s manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Operations
- Supervise the maintenance team and their schedules.
- Assess technical conditions of machines, tools, and equipment.
- Plan and oversee preventive maintenance activities.
- Ensure smooth operation of production by resolving equipment failures.
- Implement and monitor TPM and CMMS systems.
- Optimize spare parts stock levels.
- Prepare and report maintenance KPIs.
Industrialization & Technical Innovation
- Lead industrialization of new products and production lines.
- Cooperate with Group Industrial Engineering, purchasing, and maintenance.
- Propose and implement technical innovations.
- Ensure compliance with industrialization standards.
- Lean & Continuous Improvement.
- Apply Lean tools: SMED, TPM, 5S.
- Develop and lead yearly continuous improvement plans (SPS).
- Promote Lean culture across the organization.
Health & Safety
- Promote a zero-accident culture.
- Ensure compliance with safety legislation.
- Conduct risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Collaborate on ergonomic workplace standards.
Systems & Data Management
- Supervise CMMS and MES systems (key user role).
- Manage technical master data creation/modification.
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting of KPIs.
Team Leadership & Development
- Set clear objectives and evaluate performance.
- Motivate and develop team competencies.
- Ensure effective communication and team spirit.
- Control personnel costs and optimize team structure.
Budget & Legal Compliance
- Participate in budget planning and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with machine/product certifications.
- Project & Transformation Management.
- Lead and contribute to key projects and global transformation initiatives.
- Manage project scope, resources, risks, and communication.
- Ensure quality assurance and documentation standards.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial role within an international manufacturing company (Ideally with experience in the automotive industry).
- Technical degree in mechanics, electricity, automation, or similar.
- Proven experience in preventive maintenance leadership.
- Practical knowledge of Lean tools (SMED, TPM, 5S).
- Strong problem-solving, cost planning, and optimization skills.
- Excellent analytical and communication abilities.
- Calm, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Intermediate English (minimum B1 level).
- Passion for continuous improvement.
